A mother's gentle words enter her child's heart.

Do not leave the teachings of your mother"Teachings of your mother" is talking about the gentle words that the mother speaks to h er child. In her soft way, a mother helps her child understand the guidance of the fath er. She explains the father's words so that the child will be able to accept them. She show s him how to make Torah part of his everyday life.

Another explanation of the "teachings of your mother", is that the Ramban is speaking about our great Rabbis. It is the Rabbis, who explain to us the words of our REAL Father - Hashem. They teach us how to do the Mitzvos and how to keep our "Living Torah".
