"HU HAYTIV..." - THANKS FOR THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE
"hu haytiv, hu maytiv, hu yaytiv lonu" - (He didgood; He does good; He will do good for us.)
"hu g'molonu, hu gohm'laynu, hu yigm'laynu" - (He did kindness for us; He does kindness for us; He will do kindness forus.) The blessing uses three tenses to express thanks to Hashem."Hu haytiv" and "Hu g'molonu" both arewritten in the past tense. He did good to those who were killed in Baytar. He kept their bodies fresh, and allowed the dead people to be buried. "Hu maytiv" and "Hugohm'laynu" are written in the present tense. He does good now.
Hashem is constantly doing good and kind things for His holynation. "Hu yaytiv" and "Hu yigm'laynu" are written in the future tense. It is a prayer for the future goodwhich we are sure Hashem will do for us. (Y'sohd V'shohreshHoAvohdah)
