The Ramban's
letter on good "middos"
|
|
" Listen, my son, to the
guidance of your father..."The Ramban wrote
this letter to his son, whom he loved very much.
In this letter, he guides and teaches him how to
act so that he will have good "middos"
. ( When a person behaves the way Hashem wants
him to, we say that he has good
"middos". ) "
Listen," means to pay close attention. The
most important part of "mussar" is
listening. When a person really listens and
concentrates on what people tell him, this wakes
him up. He begins to understand that what they
are saying is correct , and he accepts the
"mussar" (guidance).
